Do you struggle with chronic low back pain?
Low back pain is a common condition affecting up to 50% of working Americans. Low back pain is the leading cause of disability among Americans, and Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease accounts for many chronic low back pain cases. If left untreated, Degenerative Disc Disease leads to substantial back pain that may prevent one from engaging in work and everyday activities.
If you struggle with chronic low back pain, you may qualify for a new research study, now offered at select U.S. centers. The study will investigate the use of a single injection to relieve the symptoms of Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease. The injection may potentially help to reduce back pain and its related disability by providing anti-inflammatory and potential reparative actions that may promote disc regeneration and increase function. If you are eligible and participate, you will receive all study-related care, MRI, X-Ray, ECGs, and lab work at no cost.

- 18 years of age or older
- Have had low back pain for at least 6 months
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have not had lumbosacral spine surgery
- Not receiving workers compensation benefits
- Not engaged in personal injury/medical/legal
About the study
Chronic low back pain can cause symptoms of radiating pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility, and have a negative impact on an individual’s normal daily activities and ability to work. Common conservative care treatments for chronic back pain (such as massage, chiropractic care, steroid injections, and anti-inflammatories) may not be effective long-term treatments for many patients. This clinical trial will study the safety and efficacy of a single injection into the lumbar disc area. The study will take approximately one year to complete, with treatment in the first 30 days, followed by 12 months of scheduled reviews and observation. The study will include trial-related medical examinations, surveys, MRI, X-Ray, ECGs, lab work, and assessments made by medical investigators.
There will be no cost associated with participation in the trial. You may receive compensation for transportation and time required to participate in the trial.
